"We're glad to inform you that you've been accepted to..."
Ah, the most magical phrase somebody can ever read from a letter. That's it. You are done. You know you can go somewhere now, and you know that your future is going to be great. But, to be honest, it's 17798472i430x better when you read those words from your first choice. The school of dreams. The one you worked so hard to go to, and they want you.
I, literally, cried when I got my acceptance letter from Arizona State University, my first choice. Although the school is known for it's hard-partying ways, I fell instantly in love with Arizona and the Journalism department and I couldn't see myself going anywhere else. However, I did not get into the Journalism department. I got accepted for my minor, which was English (creative writting). See, that's the thing about American Universities: You can get in the school, even though you didn't get into the major you wanted. But that's okay, you know why? I talked to the ASU representative in California and I changed my major from English to "Undecided" in the Downtown Phoenix campus (so now I pretty much will live in the Phoenix campus AND I will be able to take all of my clases as if I was a Journalism student), and if I get a 24 or more on the next ACT (and more than a 3.00 on my GPA, which I already have), I might be able to go straight into journalism! That's why it's okay no matter what. When you get your acceptance letter from your first choice, you just know that it doesn't matter what other school you are accepted to. Your destiny has already been sealed :)
(Oh, I also got accepted into Drexel University, which is an amazing university, but just not for me. Like I said, once you find your school and you get accepted to it, the rest does not matter.)
So, now I wait to get the other acceptance letter, re-take the ACT and pay my enrollment fee. I'll tell you guys more about that next time. It will be a whole new thing. I can't wait college is basically right around the corner. What happened to time?!
